Miami is the second largest city in Florida, located in Biscayne Bay, Florida Peninsula. Miami is also the largest city in the South Florida metropolitan area. This metropolitan area consists of Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach County, with a population of over 5.59 million. It is one of the most densely populated cities in the United States, the largest metropolitan area in the southeastern United States and the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States.

Miami is an international metropolis and plays an important role in finance, commerce and media. It is also the headquarters of many companies, banks and TV stations. It is a melting pot of culture, greatly influenced by the huge Latin American people and the residents of Caribbean island countries, and has close cultural and linguistic ties with North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, so it is sometimes called "the capital of America".

Early development of Miami:

Before World War II, Miami experienced amazing development: as early as the 19 th century, Miami authorities allowed gambling, and the control of prohibition was very loose. As a result, thousands of people immigrated to Miami from the northern United States, and there was a building boom. Since then, there have been many high-rise buildings in areas where there was no population before.

Some of the earliest buildings were demolished after only ten years of construction to make way for larger buildings.
