Why don't the middle class want their children studying abroad to return to China?

What do parents want most from their children? A secure and reliable future. This has nothing to do with social status, family income and knowledge level, but the instinct of parents. For some middle-class parents who are financially capable and have a certain vision and understanding, they will naturally choose to let their children go abroad to settle down. Because in their eyes, this is the safest choice within their cognitive ability. As far as my own experience is concerned, the topic mentioned returning to China to support my parents; I think there is still hope for China, and I hope to do my part, and so on, which will not have any impact on this instinct of my parents. Of course, I'm not saying that my parents don't want you to go back, and I'm not saying that I don't want China to embark on a healthy path, but you are my child. As long as you live well, it doesn't matter if you are at the ends of the earth; Even if God assures me that you are the reincarnation of the founding father, I will not consider letting you choose a road that looks so insecure before seeing the evidence. Parents don't want you to go back. In essence, it is the same behavior as parents forcing their children to take the civil service exam and parents replacing their children to go on blind dates-looking for a better future for their children.

So, why do so many middle-class parents think that their children's hopes are not at home? Those who are interested can look at my experience, all of which are in this answer, from which I believe you can understand why I immigrated. I dare not say that I have seen through the whole China society and read the whole history of China. But to be honest, my personal judgment is that ordinary people in China are very sad to live as safe and comfortable as North Americans in a short time, including my next generation's life. As a matter of fact, I am painfully aware that China people have almost never lived a rich and free life. I believe that your parents are older than me, have been immersed in China society for a longer time, have a deeper understanding, and have a better understanding of the weakness of personal strength in the face of social tide. Moreover, the higher the middle class, the higher the social status, the more resources and information it has, and the easier it is to see the deeper problems in the current society. Biology believes that animals have a "fight or flight" mechanism, that is, to put it bluntly, they run if they can't fight. I believe that people are the same at the social level. They can't fight against social reality, but just escape, as far away as possible. Once this understanding is generated, immigration, at least children's immigration will become the only choice.

In a word, parents want their children to be safe and sound, and the domestic reality makes them collectively agree that escape is the safest way out, and immigration is the best way out within their own ability and vision, so the phenomenon observed by the subject appears.
