Township history of Tianxin town

On the eve of liberation, it belonged to Tianxin Township in Chongshi District, Tianxin Township and Dongkeng Township in Tianxin District at the beginning of liberation. Tianxin Commune was established in 1958 and Dongkeng Commune was separated in 1961. In 1984, it was changed to Tianxin Township and Dongkeng Township. Dongkeng Township covers an area of 96 square kilometers and has a population of .6 million. It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, namely Dongkeng, Nankeng, Shanbei, Zhangnao, Xiakeng, Jingtou, Shangba, Zhuhu and Dongtou. The township government is located in Dongkeng, 28 kilometers away from the county seat. In 21, Dongkeng Township was abolished and transferred to Tianxin Town.
