How to get an American green card

The US green card application needs to meet the following conditions:

1. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have obtained green card status for five years, and have not left the United States for more than six months during this period. Or, the applicant has reached the age of 18, married and lived together with an American citizen for 3 years, and has not left the United States for more than 6 months during this period. At the same time, the spouse must be an American citizen for at least 3 years. Or, if the applicant obtained the green card through political asylum, usually the time of "Resident Sine" shown on the green card (the time when he started living in the United States) is one year earlier than the time when he actually obtained the green card, then he can apply for American citizenship four years and nine months after the date of "Resident Sine" on the applicant's green card.

2. Have basic English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, and have a good understanding of American history and government. To prove whether the applicant meets this requirement is to pass the citizenship examination. Immigration officials will ask 10 questions about American history and government knowledge, and applicants must answer at least 6 questions correctly to pass the exam.

3. Have good moral quality. If you want to become an American citizen, the applicant must be a person with good moral character. If the applicant fails to tell the truth in the interview, the Immigration Bureau may reject his application for naturalization on the grounds of "lack of good conduct".

4. Recognize the basic principles of the American Constitution.

The US green card processing process is as follows:

1 Apply to the US Immigration Service and provide relevant materials (I-485 form and application fee, I-485A form (if 245(I) application is filed at the same time), G-325a form (children under 14 don't need to provide), two photos, I-693 form, i.e. physical examination form and I-693 form. 2. It usually takes three to six months for the US Immigration Service to accept the application and review it.

3. After the immigration application is passed, the file package sent by the Immigration Bureau is received.

4 Wait for the notice from the American Embassy and go to the Embassy for an interview.
