China ruled Vietnam for more than 1000 years. Why didn't you assimilate Vietnam?
Moreover, these ethnic groups have basically been assimilated in about 300 years, and this cultural assimilation ability is the first in the world. But there are exceptions here, that is, Vietnam, which was ruled by China in ancient times for more than 1000 years, failed to assimilate Vietnam and made it an independent country now. Then the question is, why can't China assimilate Vietnam 1000 years? Actually, there are three main reasons.
During the Qin and Han Dynasties, that is, more than 0/00 years BC, Annan region was first incorporated into Chinese territory, and entered Chinese territory almost at the same time as Guangdong and Guangxi, and began to rule. Since then, it has gone through the Han Dynasty, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui Dynasty, Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. During this period, there was a history of more than 1200 years, and during this period 1200 years, Viet Nam was always within the territory of China and was ruled by China.
It can be said that the rule time is long enough. In 300 years, the general people were absorbed. 1000 years, even the most difficult Jews were assimilated. But why Vietnam 1000 years has not been assimilated, but was founded independently in the Song Dynasty, and now it has become a strong country in Southeast Asia! Why on earth is this? Why can't China assimilate Vietnam 1000 years? There are three main reasons.
First, at the core, China immigrants.
Many people don't understand that southern places such as Guangdong and Guangxi are ruled like Vietnam. The former is assimilated, while the latter is not. Why? In fact, the most important point is Han Chinese immigrants. In ancient Guangdong, Annan and other places were wild and wild. In order to stabilize this place, Qin Shihuang moved 500 thousand troops to the south and settled on the spot, which gradually made the ancient Han people in Guangdong and other places take advantage, and now it accounts for more than 90%. So in other words, Guangdong is integrated into China, and the biggest contributor is the Han immigrants. 500,000 immigrants made the Han people establish themselves in Guangdong, gradually merged into China, and were completely assimilated.
But Annan is different. At that time, Qin Jun did not enter Vietnam, and there were no large-scale immigrants after the Han Dynasty. Therefore, there have been very few local Han Chinese, and it is impossible to form a strong reproductive and assimilation ability. This is the key reason and the core point. If 200,000 Han troops immigrate to the local area, Vietnam will still belong to China.
Second, the Han people were slaughtered.
However, in the middle and late Tang Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty and Nanzhao fought a long-term tug-of-war in Annan area, which showed that a large number of Han people fought in Annan, causing great losses to the local Han people. In the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, there was a scuffle between the vassal regions, which made the Han people lose all their money. After the Han people in Annam disappeared, it happened that the Jing people took advantage of it and became bigger, which made the rule of 1000 fall short.
Third, geographical division.
In ancient times, it was agreed that Guangdong was wild to the extreme, so Annan, south of Guangdong, was even more wild. Moreover, the mountainous and rugged roads in northern Vietnam make the North Court's rule here very weak. Moreover, Vietnam's sky is high and the emperor is far away, so it is very easy to form a separatist regime and rebel forces, and it is also very difficult to return, and often the court is too lazy to take care of it.
So it was also because the court's control was not strong, which eventually made it independent in the Song Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, it was too weak to recover after several battles, and it was simply forgotten. Throughout the 400 years of the Song Dynasty, Annan was independent for 400 years and established his own regime and order. By the time the Yuan and Ming Dynasties came back to recover it, it was too late. In the end, China failed to assimilate Vietnam and make it independent.
