Network Literature Research Seizes the Opportunity to Establish the First Network Culture Research Institute in China Universities. In this field, he took the lead in obtaining the project support of the National Social Science Fund Project, the Tenth Five-Year Plan Project of Humanities and Social Sciences Research of the Ministry of Education and the Social Science Planning Project of Hunan Province. He has published nearly 100 papers on online literature research, and published many academic monographs such as Outline of Online Literature, Professor Series of Online Literature, and New Horizon Series of Online Literature. Established the first "Network Culture Criticism" website, and obtained the "Network Culture Research Base" in Hunan Province, and the research results are at the leading level in the country.

Cultural industry research is a new academic growth point of the college, and it is the earliest college in China that began to train doctoral and master students in cultural industry. Professor Ouyang Youquan is the first doctoral supervisor in the discipline of cultural industry in China. In 2005, he trained the first doctor in China's cultural industry and edited the first national planning textbook "Introduction to Cultural Industry". In 2006, China Cultural Industry Brand Research Center of Central South University, the first cultural brand research institution in China, was established, and the first Annual Report on Cultural Brands in China was published. At present, there are three professors and five associate professors engaged in academic research in the direction of cultural industry, which has had a considerable impact throughout the country.

Professor Yan Zhen, vice president of the College of Literature, wrote novels Once at the End of the World and Water of Canglang, which aroused strong repercussions throughout the country. Water of Canglang has won many national literary awards. The College established "Yan Zhen Studio", which expanded the influence of this literary brand through a series of fruitful academic activities. Professor Nie Mao, a returned doctor, has also published many novels, essays, poems and critical works, and won many awards.

The study of Three Gorges immigrants has a wide influence. In 2003, the National Social Science Fund project "Research on Language Communication of Three Gorges Immigrants in Hunan" presided by Professor Liu Qingsong was funded. Professor Ouyang Youquan and others completed the extracurricular research results of Cultural Differences and Cultural Integration of Three Gorges Immigrants, and won the first prize in the eighth "Challenge Cup" national extracurricular scientific and technological works competition for college students in philosophy and social sciences.

Since its establishment, the College has completed 19 scientific research projects, including 5 national social science planning projects and 22 provincial and ministerial projects. There are 23 projects under study. He has published more than 70 books and textbooks, and published more than 700 academic papers.
