What's the experience of studying at the University of Luxembourg?
Heidi Flinkman, from Finland, explained why she transferred from her hometown university to finish her undergraduate degree as an international student.
Heidi Flinkman is a third-year Bachelor of Informatics from the University of Luxembourg. He said: "I come from Finland and originally came to Luxembourg as an exchange student at a Finnish university. As my exchange period is coming to an end, I decided to transfer to Luxembourg to complete my degree. I like my exchange experience very much, and the school has offered courses in business intelligence and banking information technology that I am interested in. "
He also said: "My study plan is bilingual. According to the different courses, there are two kinds of courses: French and English. English is my good language. My personal goal is not only to get a degree, but also to strengthen my French skills throughout my study. In terms of communication inside and outside the classroom, I found the atmosphere very harmonious. "
Because this university is highly international, students and staff come from many different countries and language backgrounds, and it is easy to feel at home. My teacher often teaches in languages other than her mother tongue. They always encourage me, sometimes provide me with other course materials, or let me choose to answer in English during the exam. Universities also offer additional language courses to support your study and supplement your language skills.
Accommodation provided by the university and living with other students are a simple way to make friends at school, and can even help you learn a new language. Although I can't say that I often attend parties organized by student associations, I do make use of cultural tips, free concerts and theater tickets provided by the University Cultural Office. Living in the capital of Luxembourg certainly has its charm as a small town. The city still offers a wide range of free activities, good restaurants and inspiring internships and career choices.
Not only the University of Luxembourg, but also Luxembourg is a multicultural and international country. Luxembourg has a small land area, concentrated geographical location and convenient transportation with other European countries. Taking the train from Luxembourg Railway Station is a quick and convenient way to visit neighboring Belgium, France, Germany and even the Netherlands and Switzerland on weekends, which gives you the opportunity to get more international travel.
