Why can Canada be a good neighbor of the United States and Mexico not?

The early immigrants in the United States and Canada were all white people from western Europe, mostly British. It was these descendants of the British who established and prospered the North American colonies. The most prosperous 14 colonies got rid of British colonial rule and gained political independence because of their economic independence, which was later the United States. Canada, on the other hand, existed as a dominion of the British Empire for a long time, and it was not completely independent until modern times.
