1. Geographical environment: Northeast China includes Liaoning Province, Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province, all of which belong to the Northeast Plain. The terrain is dominated by mountains and rivers, and the land is fertile. This geographical environment provides rich production and living resources for the people in Northeast China, and also breeds unique northeast folk customs.

2. Historical background: "Going East" is an important cultural phenomenon in the history of Northeast China. During the reign of Daoguang Xianfeng, due to frequent wars and natural disasters in the Central Plains, a large number of bankrupt farmers broke into the Northeast to make a living despite the ban of the Qing government. These immigrants from Hebei, Shandong and other places brought the cultures of their respective regions, merged with the original cultures in Northeast China, and formed a unique Northeast culture, including Northeast folk.
