China is a mountainous country. There used to be 14 peaks over 8000m in the world, of which 7 were in China. Compared with the towering mountains, China has the deepest basin in the world-Turpan Basin, with the lowest elevation of-293m. Crops are cantaloupe grapes and long-staple cotton.
There are many geographical statements about the number four in China, including four great basin (Junggar Basin-Tarim Basin-Sichuan Basin-Qaidam Basin), four plains (Northeast Plain-North China Plain-Middle and Lower Yangtze River Plain-Pearl River Delta Plain), four straits (Bohai Strait-Taiwan Province Strait-Qiongzhou Strait-bashi channel) and four plateaus (Qinghai-Tibet Plateau-Inner Mongolia Plateau-Loess Plateau-Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau).
China has more than 5,000 islands, three of which are Taiwan Province Island, Hainan Island and Chongming Island. Zhoushan Archipelago in Zhejiang Province is the largest archipelago in China.
