Caesarea, Israel

The first historical site in Israel is Caesarea. Located 50 kilometers north of Tel Aviv, my friends and I drove there. You can buy a student ID card at half price, such as 33 shekels. Caesarea is located in the wilderness, surrounded by yellow sand. Under the scorching sun, we were wrapped tightly and filled with joy.

I was surprised to see a cactus more than one person high at the door. I want to ask my friends what kind of cactus this is and what's on it. Can I eat? But even I forgot how to say cactus in English. Now I'm quite impressed when I ask it now.

Caesarea was the capital built by Herod, the monarch of the Roman Empire, two thousand years ago. This ancient city is a collection of Roman and Greek styles, which was extremely luxurious and magnificent at that time. However, after several wars and earthquakes, most of the ancient city of Caesarea was destroyed and then sank to the bottom of the sea. It was not until the archaeological discovery in19th century that it was rediscovered. Now it is Israel National Park.

In the ancient city of Caesarea, the Grand Theatre has the most far-reaching influence. The amphitheater we see now has been rebuilt or marked with numbers, which is very spectacular. The khaki bricks exude a strong Greek style. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the theater staged the opera Turandot with the Yuan Dynasty in China as the story background.

There are only some ancient broken walls among the monuments, and the glory of the past is faintly visible. Drainage facilities and public bathrooms were also quite advanced at that time.
