What should I do if I need to apply for a single certificate to marry an Australian?

If a citizen who has settled in Australia wants to marry China's fiance (wife), he/she must provide an officially recognized single certificate to the domestic civil affairs department. The single certificate of foreign residents must be approved by the China Embassy before it can take effect, and each person can only apply for one single certificate. At present, the single certificates certified by China Embassy are mainly divided into three categories: unmarried certificates, divorce certificates and spouse death certificates.

1, unmarried certificate

Required documents: copy of citizen card, social security card, passport, immigration paper, sun card and other identity documents.

Fill in the application form for notarization and authentication stipulated by the embassy.

Provide a single certificate notarized by an Australian notary or lawyer (that is, no spouse certificate). The certificate must specify the date, place and marital status of the parties, and the agent must sign in front of the notary and swear that he is single. Then, the certificate must be certified by the competent department designated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where Australia is located, and then sent to the Embassy of China in Australia for certification. The certificate is valid only if it is certified within three months from the date of issuance, and the certificate certified by the embassy is valid for half a year.

Prepare all the above documents and send them to the Australian Embassy in China.
