What makes you angry in today’s society?

It exists in many countries, some more prominently than others. Topics such as the refugee crisis, undocumented immigrants, and immigrant abuse, the strike discusses human rights and indigenous rights. If you come across a discussion like this, be prepared to read or hear some extreme views from people who believe they have the right to decide who has access to social welfare, jobs, education, health care, etc. in a given country. Land and economy, and who can't.

They believe that this is a fight based on nationalism, to protect a country's identity and its resources. Stereotyping others based on race and religion is a bone of contention. While some views are relevant and acceptable, others are blatantly racist.

Xenophobia is real, now more than ever. I am not going to talk about famous countries facing this problem. I live in Malaysia and even though it is a multi-racial country, I am disgusted to hear some of the openly accepted racist ideas against immigrants, whether refugees, workers, legal immigrants, or even tourists in some cases .

I hear so many harsh and irrational comments about immigrants that it makes me angry. I get angry every time someone says "immigrants take our jobs" because most laborers are "taking" jobs that natives don't want to do. Over the past year, Malaysia has implemented strict new regulations on hiring foreign professionals. You would think the local workforce would thrive as a result, but we still have a shortage of skilled workers. While they mock working workers, they themselves are not qualified enough to get better jobs in this country.

I get angry every time someone says, 'Immigrants are pouring into our country and living here as if they were their own land,' and the irony is that some of the people who say these things At that time, there was actually no land “owned” in this country at all. People cannot choose where they are born. Being born in a country does not give you the right to dominate those who come to live in your country. These immigrants may have contributed more to the country than the citizens who gleefully judge them.

I get angry every time someone says, "Why should the government spend our tax dollars on the welfare of these refugees/immigrants when we don't even have enough resources for our own people?" How inhumane is your unwillingness to share your country's resources with those in desperate need, such as refugees. When it comes to sharing social benefits, immigrants also pay taxes, and they pay more than natives.

In Malaysia, although they pay more, the social benefits they receive are completely different from those of locals
