The History and Culture of Taiqiu Town

Chen Ya (104- 187), an upright official, was called Mr. Wen Yuan, who is now from Chen Gu Village, Guqiao Township, changge city City, Henan Province (Xu Xian County, Yingchuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty). Emperor Huan of the Eastern Han Dynasty was the head of Qiu at that time. It was called Chen Taiqiu in ancient times. He was an honest official, well-managed, impartial, generous and good at convincing people with virtue, leaving a beautiful talk of "the legacy of Chen Mao". The well-known historical idioms and allusions in Gentlemen on the Liang have been widely praised for thousands of years. Qiu's eight sights are well known. At the end of Qing Dynasty, the bloody battle of Nian Army was too high, leaving many touching stories. In the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression era, the Japanese invaders created a shocking "Taiqiu Massacre" in Taiqiu, and nearly a thousand people were slaughtered; Huaihai Campaign Taiqiu Campaign, Li Chuntang and other 16 revolutionary martyrs died here for our happy life now.

Chen Ya was born in the 15th year of Yongyuan in the Eastern Han Dynasty (A.D. 103). He was smart and eager to learn since he was a child, and he worked as an assistant to the pavilion leader for a little longer, that is, a pavilion near the ancient city wall, that is, a small official who assisted the pavilion. Deng Shao, the county magistrate, found him studious and recommended him to study in imperial academy. At the end of the semester, he successively served as the curator of Yingchuan Magistrate, Du You and Ximen Pavilion, then transferred to Gongcao (the official in charge of general affairs) of this county, and later served as the county magistrate of wenxi county (now Shanxi Province). Because of his mother's funeral, he temporarily left his post in Xun Yue, and he was re-appointed as Qiu of northwest Yongcheng. Qiu, a famous dog mound in the Spring and Autumn Period, was built in the Western Han Dynasty to honor the marquis of the mound. When Emperor Hanming of the East changed the worship of the mountain to Qiu, and Emperor Huan was appointed as the head of Qiu. It is recorded in the Book of the Later Han Dynasty that during Xiu De's tenure, the world was at peace, the people lived and worked in peace and contentment, and many people joined the families of neighboring counties. In Shi Shuo Xin Yu, a chronicle of Yongding County in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and Tai Wei, an anecdote of famous people in Wei and Jin Dynasties edited by Liu Yiqing in Southern Dynasties, many well-known stories of Tai Wei Ai Chen were recorded or circulated.

Advise farming and weaving to be honest.

Chen Ya went to Qiu to take office, and came at home with an ox cart, cotton bows, spinning wheels and other daily necessities. After the old cow gave birth to the calf, she thought that the calf had grown up eating local forage from Taiwei and insisted on handing it over to the official treasury. According to legend, he also let his wife sit on an ox cart with a bow and a spinning wheel, and advised the peasant woman and the weaver girl to work hard and keep the house. So far, Taiqiu still sings such a folk song:

It is widely rumored that the official of the Han Dynasty was Chen Bigong, and the ox cart wore a bow with flowers. Cows still return to the library after giving birth to calves, and their elegance and virtue are well known throughout the ages.

Honesty-based, strict law-abiding

The founder of Shi Shuo Xin Yu recorded such a story: "Chen Taiqiu went on a date with his friends, and the date was at noon." After the Japanese, Taiqiu gave up (not waiting to leave), even after. Fiona Fang (Chen Mao's eldest son, BenQ) was playing outside the door at the age of seven. The guest asked Fiona Fang, "Is Zunjun there?" Answer:' I haven't been here long, but I went. The friend is angry:' No humanity! Leave with the people. Fiona Fang said:' You and your family will be in Japan, but if they don't arrive in Japan, they won't believe it; It is impolite to scold your father. The friend was ashamed and got off the bus to quote (apologize), but Fiona Fang ignored him. "

The story goes like this. One day Chen Ya and his friend agreed to go to work at noon, but when their friend didn't come after noon, Chen Ya left without waiting. My friend arrived at noon and asked Ai Chen's eldest son, Fiona Fang. Why didn't my father wait? Fiona Fang told him sternly, "If you don't keep your promise, you should." Later generations wrote the poem "Chen Taiqiu and Friends", praising:

A thousand dollars, a promise, is as heavy as a mountain, and everything starts from sincerity. People who do things have to do everything for a while and don't believe anything they say. Japanese and China people should be ashamed to rest their eyes. You see, Chen Gonghua is a thief. He has long lived in the world.

"Rules and regulations" is a standard table, which is a metaphor for norms and laws. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Chen Mao was known as a "good official", which means an official who abides by the statutes, has achievements and is praised by the people.

Law enforcement is like a mountain with clear priorities.

The political article of Shi Shuo Xin Yu also recorded such a thing as Chen Ya. When Chen Ya was Qiu, a robber killed a rich man, and he went after him with his men. I heard on the road that a woman gave birth to a child and abandoned it. He immediately went back to deal with the case of abandoned baby. The main book accused him: "The case of thief killing is very important and should be investigated first." Chen Taiqiu said, "Stealing and killing the rich man, how can it be flesh and blood?" Chen Mao's first aid to civilian babies has become an eternal story.

The gentleman on the beam originated from Qiu.

Since the Eastern Han Dynasty, people have been happy to praise the story of "a gentleman on the beam" and it has been widely circulated at home and abroad. This famous allusion comes from Chen Ya's Undoubtedly, but there are different opinions about where it happened. On Monday, this allusion originated from Chen Ya's appointment in Qiu. This happened in Ai Chen's hometown. What is right and wrong? Let's take a look at the narrative in the Biography of Chen Shu in the later Han Dynasty: "People are young and thrifty, and burglars enter the house and stop at Liang. Seeing Zhen Yin (secretly), from the whole stroke, he called his children and grandchildren and said seriously,' Madam can't help but encourage herself. People who are not kind are not necessarily evil, but are used to sex. The gentleman on the beam is! "The thief was frightened and threw himself on the ground, complaining (kneeling on the ground and asking for punishment). In fact, the analogy (teaching) says:' From the outside, you don't look like a villain, so you should profoundly deny yourself and fight against goodness, but this is because of poverty'. Two pieces of silk (Hui, a gift). There is no theft in a county. "

This story is about a thief who sneaked into Chen Ya's house at night and hid on the beam to steal something. Chen Ya saw this secretly when he entered the room, so he greeted his descendants and gave them a serious lesson: "You must encourage yourself. The bad guys may not be bad guys, but they just developed bad habits later. The gentleman on the beam is such a person! " The thief was frightened and immediately jumped down and kowtowed to confess. Chen Ya admonished him: "You don't look like a bad guy, but it's because your family is poor." Then he asked his family to send him two pieces of silk, and there has been no theft in the county since then.

It can be seen from Chen Mao's work as an ox cart in Taiqiu to persuade the Weaver Maid to plow, that he came to Taiqiu with his family, and it is also true that he advised his descendants. Second, Chen Mao was troubled by inner-party disasters soon after he resigned and returned to China. He pleaded guilty for everyone and served 20 years in prison, so he can't rob. Third, after he punished the "gentleman on the beam", there were no thieves. When Chen Ya returned to his hometown, he was an ordinary person before and after his imprisonment. If there is such a move, it will not affect the county without thieves. Therefore, only Chang Ya, as Qiu, has such a courageous move, which can have such a great impact on the county. Finally, the sentence "Turn thieves into benevolence, and the wind sweeps away thousands of people" in Lu Yonghui's poem "One of the Eight Scenes of Qiu" in the late Qing Dynasty is considered to have influenced Qiu's thieves. So I think "Gentleman on the Beam" belongs to our Qiu.

Zanren, De and An.

The political chapter of Shi Shuo Xin Yu also records: "Chen Yuanfang waited for Yuan Gong at the age of fifteen. Yuan Gong asked,' A gentleman is near and far when he is in Qiu. What did he do? Fiona Fang said,' When my late father was in Taiwei, the strong appeased with virtue, and the weak caressed with benevolence, and his posture was always respectful. Yuan Gong asked Fiona Fang, the eldest son of Ai Chen, "What good things did your father do in Taiqiu County and was praised by people near and far?" Fiona Fang told him: "In Tai Wei, my father used virtue to make the powerful and overbearing people submit to him, and used kindness to appease the weak and helpless people and let them live and work in peace. The longer they live, the more respected they are. " This shows that Chen Mao is indeed an official in Qiu for the benefit of one party.

Resign for the people and return in anger.

Chen Mao's tenure as Qiu is not long. Some people say that it is only one year, but it may actually be longer. Otherwise, his good deeds and virtues could not spread all over the country, so that the name of "Chen Taiqiu" was passed down from generation to generation. According to the records of Yongcheng county annals and Ming Huan annals in the 29th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1903), Chen Ya was the head of Taiwei in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is ominous to find out how Ai served as Qiu during the 20 years from 147 to 167. At that time, the three counties of Taiwei, Yanyi and Linsui in Yongcheng belonged to Guo Pei. Because it is illegal for Pei Xiang to come to Qiu to collect taxes and plunder people's property, Chen Mao resigned angrily and returned to the office.

Thousands of generations praised Chen Ya.

After Chen Mao resigned from his boss and returned to his hometown, Taiqiu County was merged into Zan County and changed to Qiao County in the Three Kingdoms period. Zanlin County was abandoned in Yuan Dynasty and merged into Yongcheng County, which was established in the sixth year of Sui Daye (AD 6 10). It is precisely because the Eastern Han Dynasty Yongcheng ruled Taiwei County, and Ai Chen, a famous person in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was the first of Taiwei, so Yongcheng was called the ancient Taiwei. Later generations built Chen Taiqiu Temple in the east of Taiqiu Village to commemorate it. Chen Cong, the Ji of Yongcheng in the Ming Dynasty, praised Chen Mao in the poem "Qiu Qingqi": "Fortunately, Zhong Gong is still there, and the spring breeze is spreading in the hustle and bustle." Eight scenic spots in Yongcheng in Qing Dynasty, known as Eight Scenes of Qiu, among which Chen Temple frost pine praised Chen Yao's way:

Frost depresses pine and grows cold rhyme, and the deserted temple is worshipped by generations. The event of gathering stars has spread through the ages, and thieves have turned into benevolent winds. Try listening to Li's ballad "Huize", and you will go to the wild to praise Gan Tang. The villagers * * * are afraid that Chen Jun is short, and the party may as well ban books.

In the fourth year of Zhong Ping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 187), Chen Ya died at the age of 84. Last wishes: frugal funeral, thin coffin, wearing original clothes ... The audience burst into tears. And more than 30,000 people mourned at home, hundreds of whom went to Dai Xiao wearing marijuana. Posthumous title "Mr. Fan Wen" behind him. In order to carry forward the virtue of Chen Yazhi, the Taiwei Town People's Government has erected a tall statue of Chen Ya in Taiwei Central Street in recent years, and plans to rebuild Chen Taiwei Temple in the original site to reproduce the landscape of "Chen Miao Shuang Song".
