The story happened in the late 1980s. Victor (Tom Hanks) is Slovenian. In order to escape the war in the motherland, he decided to immigrate to the United States and bought a plane ticket to the United States with simple luggage. He was stopped when he got off the plane at the Kennedy Airport Terminal in new york to get out of the airport. It turned out that there was a coup in his motherland and he became an enemy of the United States!

Victor's passport and identity documents, as well as immigration documents, were useless. He was detained at the airport. In an instant, Victor became an isolated man without a country and a home, and he became a victim of international political changes.
