The development of foreign media economy has gone through several stages.

Judging from the development history of European Chinese media 150 years, it can be roughly divided into the following stages.

1866-1911is the initial stage, and Chinese newspapers and periodicals in this period were founded mainly for the needs of trade exchanges between the East and the West.

However, due to the lack of readers, Chinese newspapers and periodicals and poor printing quality, the impact is not great. 19 12- 1949 is the initial stage of development, and the number of newspapers and periodicals founded by Chinese people has increased. These newspapers and periodicals have played an important role in communicating information, enhancing China people's local understanding and paying attention to current events in China. 1950- 1978 is the low tide stage. 1949 after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), due to the international cold war and the western blockade of China, China's overseas immigration basically stopped. It was not until the late 1960s that China newspapers and periodicals began to rebuild.

After 1979, Chinese media in Europe entered a new stage of development. After the reform and opening up, there was a "going abroad craze" in China, and the number of new immigrants to Europe increased greatly. Newspapers from China rushed to Europe, and new immigrants from China began to set up their own newspapers.
