The Norwegian University of Science and Technology can award the following degrees: (1) Bachelor (B. Sc, B. Eng), and undergraduate courses are usually taught in Norwegian. (2) Master (M. Sc, MEng), and the postgraduate courses are mainly taught in English. (3) PhD. Most doctoral programs are taught in English, and a few are taught in Norwegian or German. A doctorate usually takes three years. Before getting a doctorate, you must complete a research project and publish 4 to 5 works in internationally renowned journals. At the same time, write a doctoral thesis and make a defense with public participation. The doctoral thesis defense committee will invite well-known foreign non-Norwegian professors and internationally renowned scholars in their fields to participate in order to improve the quality of the degree awarded. The final result and degree will be evaluated by a committee. Doctor's degree is the highest degree awarded by Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
