The story of Mariko's murder in Wellhead.

On April 2nd, 1990, Mariko, a senior female college student studying at Imperial Tea Women's University in Tokyo, Japan, arrived in Taiwan Province Province by plane alone for a self-help tour and stayed at Taipei International Youth Home. After receiving the report, the Metropolitan Police Department ordered the police departments of counties and cities across the country to conduct a joint search, but found nothing. On June 27th, Interpol and Kaohsiung police formed a "Joint Task Force in 2007" and offered a reward of NT$ 50,000. The family also offered a reward of 500,000 yen. As the man surnamed Li in Tainan City was Mariko's last contact object at the wellhead, he was listed as an important related person by the ad hoc group, but his words and whereabouts were explained in detail, so he was released. On July 7th, the police received a tip that Mariko at the wellhead had been killed and buried in a cemetery in the new town of Tainan County. After being arrested, Liu admitted the crime in his confession. In his confession, he pointed out that on April 7th last year (1990), he saw Mariko at the wellhead carrying a backpack in front of Kaohsiung Station. He approached him and found that Mariko was Japanese. After a written conversation, he learned that Mariko wanted to find a place to live, so he took Mariko back to Xiaogang's residence by motorcycle. Then they went to Chenghu, Fengshan, Datong Department Store and other places together, and accompanied Liu back to his residence to rest that night. Regarding the killing process, Liu confessed that he held a crossbow in the early morning of the 8 th, fired four arrows at his head at the wellhead, cut off his head and put it into a plastic bag. The body was wrapped in a sheet, and it was scattered in different places with the bloody clothes he wore, the crossbow for committing crimes and the backpack at the wellhead. When he dumped the body, he was afraid of being found, so he was doused with gasoline and burned the body, and also burned the bed board where Mariko slept.

Liu was taken into court on the 5th after committing the crime. Later, the police repeatedly asked Liu about the location of the body dump, but Liu repeatedly confessed that sometimes in Tainan County and sometimes in Tainan City, the police made several trips between Tainan and Kaohsiung, but nothing was found. On March 7th, Liu admitted that his body was dumped in an open space on 13th Street in Chongming, Tainan City, and his head was dumped in a garbage truck near Nanmen Street. On March 9, the task force went to the place where Liu claimed to have abandoned his body, dug up more than 100 bones under the chopped tree roots and sent them to Taipei for identification. However, because the head was abandoned and transported to the landfill in Rende Township, Tainan County, it took a long time and the excavation cost was expensive, so the plan to find the head was forced to cancel. Subsequently, according to Liu's confession, the relics and crossbows used for committing crimes such as flashlights, knives and umbrellas were found one after another. On March 14, Kyoko wellhead arrived in Taiwan Province again. After identification by Yang Risong, a well-known forensic doctor, and Li Changyu, an international criminal expert, it was determined that the bones dug up were Mariko, a long-lost wellhead.

On April 1 1, the task force transferred Liu to the Kaohsiung District Prosecutor's Office for investigation on suspicion of murder, embezzlement, infringement and abandonment of a corpse according to the criminal law. In the transfer letter, the ad hoc group quoted the testimony of a secret witness, and concluded that Liu was rudely rejected because of his lust for beauty at the wellhead, so he became angry from embarrassment, killed him while sleeping, defiled his body after the attack, and took away his cash.
