Recently, the Canadian Consulate in Beijing has made new changes in applying for a study visa in Canada. Mr. Guan, President of Jiahua Immigration Study Center, gave a detailed interpretation of the new regulations:

(1) According to the new regulations, the Immigration Bureau requires the parents of the applicant to provide the original individual income tax form issued by the local tax bureau in the past 12 months. This means that the Immigration Bureau's examination of the income of the applicant's parents is more rigorous and standardized. The Immigration Bureau did this because they wanted to further ensure the authenticity of their parents' work and income and prove that the income written in the employer's letter was consistent with the tax paid. At the same time, it can guarantee the students' living and studying expenses in Canada. Guan believes that this move by the Immigration Bureau will bring some troubles to the applicants. Because many applicants' parents pay taxes on their behalf, it is difficult for them to provide personal income tax returns. In this regard, Teacher Guan believes that under the new policy, overseas students and their parents should pay attention to two points: First, they should ensure that the tax forms provided are true and reliable, and can withstand more rigorous examination and investigation by the Immigration Bureau; Second, if you really can't issue a tax bill, you must issue a company certificate or income certificate with reliable and true documents to show the reliability of income.

(2) The validity period of the Canadian passport held by the applicant has changed: in the past, the original passport or travel document with at least one blank page was required, and this document had a limited period of at least one month after the applicant planned to leave Canada. This provision is now changed to: Passports must have at least one blank page in addition to the last page. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months before travel. This update only supplements the validity period of the applicant's passport and will not have a great impact on his study visa.

(3) The applicant may submit the medical examination report and other application documents to the consulate. In other words, if the information is approved, the immigration officer will immediately review the medical examination report and issue a visa, so that the visa time will be accelerated, and there is no need to wait for the medical examination form from the consulate as usual.

(4) The student visa application fee of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing was slightly raised, from RMB 765,438+00 to RMB 775 on June 65, 2009.
