Between adoptive parents and adopted children, from the date of the establishment of the adoption relationship, they are legally the same as their biological parents and enjoy the same inheritance rights. With regard to stepparents and stepchildren, according to Article 1 127 of the Civil Code of China, the order of inheritance is: (1) The first order: spouse, children and parents; (2) The second order: brothers and sisters, grandparents and grandparents. The children mentioned in this part include children born in wedlock, children born out of wedlock, adopted children and stepchildren with dependency. For the dependency relationship here, please refer to Article 13 of the Interpretation of Inheritance in the Civil Code. If the decedent provides the main source of livelihood, or gives major help in labor and other aspects, it shall be regarded as fulfilling the main maintenance obligation or the main maintenance obligation. In other words, the provision of living expenses, daily care, frequent visits and living together can be regarded as "dependency relationship" as the case may be.
