Among Liu's works, the short story is Time Migration and the long story is Ball Lightning. Recently, I reread the ball lightning and simply wrote some notes.

"Ball Lightning" clearly runs through the main line at the beginning, from the sentence of the protagonist's father: "The key to a wonderful life lies in what you can get hooked on." Perhaps this is also Liu's way of clarifying his attitude towards science fiction, becoming fascinated with science fiction and shaping a wonderful life.

"You choose a recognized world problem, and it is best to use only a piece of paper and a pencil to solve mathematical problems, such as Goldbach conjecture or Fermat's last theorem, or even pure natural philosophical problems that don't need paper and pencil, such as the origin of the universe, devote yourself to research, only ask about cultivation, don't ask about harvest, and unconsciously concentrate, and the whole life will pass. People often say that the same is true of sustenance. Or on the contrary, with the sole goal of making money, we spend all our time thinking about how to make money, regardless of what it is for. When we die, we hold a pile of gold coins like Grandet and say, "Ah, it's so warm ..." We can ask ourselves, are we addicted to something?

My parents were burnt to ashes by ball lightning. After the appearance of "it", the hero in the novel has set a good direction for his life. He is persistent and entangled, but he doesn't hate it. Not only is he fascinated by ball lightning, but also Professor Zhang and his lover feel lucky. Although it was swallowed, Professor Zhang's last wish was to be cremated with ball lightning after death, all of which showed one word: love.

The novel has many bright spots, many of which are reversed. The brain hole is naturally big enough.

1. About Zhang Bin, from the initial impression, he was numb. Later, he became a crazy fan of ball lightning. He was injured by spherical lightning at the Jade Emperor's top of Mount Tai, and then he built countless beautiful physical models. However, the end result is complete self-denial.

2. The exploration of spherical lightning in the book, the protagonist Dr. Chen started from the theoretical model to seek experiments until despair, but I will go all the way to the water and jump out of the confinement of thinking. From the generation of spherical lightning to the search, I found that "cavitation" is the so-called macro-electron, and the author's imagination is really unparalleled.

According to the truth, the special forces equipped with ball lightning should be invincible. Ha, the reversal is coming again. This force is useless. The enemy came prepared and easily gained effective defense.

4. After the ball lightning weapon became waste, it made a breakthrough in finding macro-nucleus. The appearance of so-called "strings" led to macroscopic nuclear fusion at room temperature. The bane of this chip is enough to bring mankind back to the farming era, and it is this thing that ended the war.

5. About death, ball lightning death, there are many visions in the book, all of which are traces of people and animals who realize the death of ball lightning. So in the death part, there is a reversal, and there is no real death, but the quantum state collapses with the observer.

Lin Yun, the hostess, would like to say that she has been fascinated by weapons research all her life, but she has seen more persistence in her. She devoted her life to the army, scientific research and finally to weapons. This role is unique and admirable. Although Liu is not good at writing about women, there are few differences between women and men in her works.

Liu's works are basically overhead, and the background is modern China. Most of the elements in the novel are consistent with our daily life, so it is very readable. Although it is science fiction, it is only natural and natural in real life.

Terminology, the book uses a lot of scientific terms, including meteorology, mathematics, quantum physics and so on. This is a bright spot in itself, but these words and theories are obscure to read and will make some people stop. It should be said that the author's patience in dealing with these problems is not enough, which may be a problem in this book.
