The Mayflower of Plymouth

May flower is not the first ship from England to North America, but it is the most famous ship from England to North America. May flower has a load of about 180 tons and a length of 19.5 meters. It is famous for carrying a group of separatist Puritans to North America to establish Plymouth colony and making the Mayflower Convention on board.

Puritan separatists are the most radical faction in English Puritanism. Due to the cruel persecution of the Anglican Church, they left England for the Netherlands on August 1608. Some of them decided to move to North America and signed immigration contracts with companies in Virginia. 1620 September16 led by pastor Blest, took Mayflower to North America. There were 102 passengers on board, including 35 separatists, and the rest were craftsmen, fishermen, poor farmers and 14 indentured slaves. 165438+1October 2 1, arrived at Cape Cod (now provine, Massachusetts) and landed in Plymouth the day after Thanksgiving.
