In the following period, the Qing government forbade any Han Chinese to sign contracts in the Northeast, but in 1978, the Qing government completely carried out this behavior, so the population of the three northeastern provinces exceeded180,000 until the demise of the Qing Dynasty.

The wave of going to the East never stopped until the eve of liberation. The population of the whole northeast has reached 37 million, of which about half are from Shandong. It was only later that the economy of Shandong province developed, so some Shandong people returned to Shandong to continue their lives, and some people continued to stay in the northeast for development.
