Niantian Village is located 50 kilometers southwest of Puning City. It consists of seven natural villages: Niantian, Yangqidu, Shuitianpu, Jiaowo, Toujinshi, Shangche, and Xiannitian, with a population of 2,500. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, a branch of the Zhan family settled here. During the Yongzheng period (AD 1723-1735), immigrants named Fang moved in from Huilai Shenquan, and later Zhan moved there. The land formerly cultivated by the Zhan family was taken over by the Fang family, and was named Zhan Tian. . Zhan and Nian are homophonic in Hakka, so this name is commonly used. The settlements are distributed in blocks. There are 715 acres of cultivated land and 8,473 acres of mountainous land. The main agricultural products are rice and sweet potatoes.
