Who do Native Americans belong to?

Native Americans such as Indians and Inuit account for 0.9% of the total population (2000 census), and about 35% of them live in Indian reservations. According to the June 2005 census, the population of the United States is about 296 million. The United States is a multi-ethnic country with great racial differences. Black or African-American accounted for 12.3%(2000 census) and settled in all parts of the country, but the southern black area was the largest.

Asian Americans (excluding Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders) are the third largest minority, accounting for 3.7% in the 2000 census. Most Asian Americans are concentrated in the West Coast and Hawaii. The largest ethnic groups come from the Philippines, China, Indian, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese.
