Definition of Songjiang dialect

Songjiang dialect covers parts of Songjiang, Jinshan, Qingpu, Fengxian and Minhang, such as Qibao, Xinzhuang, Maqiao, Beiqiao, Zhuanqiao and Tangwan.

In terms of coverage, Qingpu does not include Li Antang, and Minhang does not include Hongqiao, Huacao, Meilong, Chen Xing, Du Xing, Luhui, Zhuzhai, Wang Ji and Cao Xing (they belong to the old Shanghainese dialect area) and LaoMinhang and Wujing Town (LaoMinhang has used urban dialect after 300 years of immigration and a large number of urban industrial immigrants in the middle of last century, and Wujing Town also uses urban dialect because of urban industrial immigrants). Fengxian District does not include Si Tuan and Ping An (Pudong dialect).
