Where is the locust tree?
There is a Guangji Temple in the west of Jia Cun, 30 kilometers north of Hongdong in Linfen City. On the left side of the temple, there is a big pagoda tree planted in the Han Dynasty, with lush foliage and a number of trees around it, which are several feet high and set off by several acres. The official road runs through the north and south, and the traffic is very convenient. The Ming government immigrated from Shanxi to other places many times, and the immigrants from Hongdong and nearby areas were concentrated here.
After Yuan Shizu came to power, natural disasters and man-made disasters continued one after another. Due to the continuous use of troops and the expansion of the Yellow River, there were eight consecutive breaches, the national treasury was empty, and people's grievances boiled, and people's uprisings in various places reached more than 30 times. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the northern and southern parts of Henan Province were allowed to be kings respectively, causing chaos and years of war. In the end, Zhu Yuanzhang was defeated, unified the north and the south, and established the Ming Dynasty. In order to defend the northern frontier defense, continue to conquer the remnants of the Yuan army, enrich the population of Beijing and solve the food problem, the minister put forward the measures of "immigration, reclamation" to resume production. After Yongle, Hebei, Shandong, Henan and other provinces suffered from famine year after year, and the Yellow River and Huaihe River burst several times. The Central Plains is "thousands of miles away, desolate and uninhabited". At that time, Shanxi had a stable environment, a prosperous economy and a large population because of Serenade. Therefore, Zhu Yuanzhang ordered immigrants from Shanxi. From the third year of Hongwu (A.D. 1370) to the fourteenth year of Yongle (A.D. 14 16), the Ming court gathered the immigrants under the Chinese locust tree in Hongdong for eight times, went through the migration procedures, gave them Sichuan capital as the basis, and then moved them to a foreign land. Relocated households are reluctant to leave and turn back frequently. When immigrants left their hometown, the ancient locust tree became the most unforgettable symbol. Today, in Shanxi, Hebei, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu and other places, there are still two popular sayings: "Ask me where my hometown is? Shanxi Hongdong big locust tree ". Today, there are still some place names in Beijing, such as Huozhou Camp, Zhou Pu Camp and Hongtong Camp. This shows that immigrants deeply miss their hometown, and it is also the best commemoration for immigrants thousands of miles away.
The ancient Sophora japonica in Han dynasty has long since disappeared, and the second generation of Sophora japonica has dried up. The third generation of Sophora japonica is thriving and flourishing, as tall and straight as the ancient Sophora japonica in Han Dynasty. In order to commemorate the ancient Huai, in 19 1 1 year, an exquisite and unique pavilion with carved beams and painted buildings, cornices and arches was built in the ancient Huai of Han Dynasty. There is a vertical monument in the pavilion, with five characters engraved on the front, and a brief introduction of immigrants in that year engraved on the back.
On the right side of the monument pavilion, there is a teahouse where tourists can drink tea and think about the past.
Thirty meters in front of the pavilion, there is an antique archway with four columns and three doors, with poetic plaques. The banners on both sides of the memorial archway are engraved with the characters "Yan Yan's letter" and "A bustling city" respectively. There is a couplet on each side of the banner, and the upper part is "Tea is drinkable, milk is fragrant; The pavilion can be traced back to the building, and the green locust knows the homesickness. " The bottom line is "Liu Laihuai, you should feel far away from the countryside when you come here;" The water source is woody, and I still think about my hometown today. " For hundreds of years, the descendants of Hongdong immigrants have spread all over the country and even moved to Southeast Asia, so the ancient locust has won a reputation in China.
1983, the government of Hongtong County built a new gatehouse and fence here. 1984, an archway was built at the junction of Jia Cun and Taimao Highway, with four characters inscribed by Dong Shouping, a famous national calligrapher. The brand-new "ancient locust tree place" will summon more descendants of immigrants to seek their roots and ask their ancestors and look back at their hometown.
