Tongguan is located in Beigangkou Town, Tongguan County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province.

Tongguan, the eastern gate of Guanzhong, has always been a battleground for military strategists, ranking second among the top ten famous customs in China, and is known as the "first pass in the world". Tongguan county is located at the eastern end of Guanzhong plain in Shaanxi province, at the junction of Qin, Jin and Henan provinces.
