According to legend, he was the first Han monk to become a monk in Baima Temple in the history of China, and the first Dojo for Zhu Shixing, a monk from the Three Kingdoms, to go west to learn and give lectures. There are four or five clear springs halfway up the mountain behind the temple. Before the Xiaolangdi Reservoir was filled with water, these springs were once the only water source for local villagers to drink.

After the water level in the reservoir area rose, the original site of the temple was flooded, and the other three high-level Ganquan still did not come out.
