The villagers celebrate the rich and healthy life in the past year through a series of folk activities of herding pigs and sheep every year, and pray for good weather, prosperous business, good luck and happiness in the new year.

The custom of herding pigs and sheep in Shuolian Village originated in the 0/6th century (the middle of Ming Dynasty). /kloc-in the 6th century, with the development of industry and commerce, some ethnic surnames became big families. With the development of social economy, various ethnic surnames continue to live together, and do as the Romans do. Every household has the ability to offer sacrifices to pigs and sheep to worship the god of wealth. From the end of the 20th century to the beginning of the 20th century, Shuolian Village gradually developed into a 20-club (natural village) with 52 surnames. In order to reduce the burden, the elders in the village agreed that 65,438+00 larger cooperatives would offer sacrifices to pigs and sheep in turn every year, making this village unique.

Every year, the organizers will start making preparations in the previous year and raise pigs and sheep by themselves. On the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first month, every household hangs lanterns, boars and rams, and then puts them on the wooden frame in the shape of "Hui". Oranges are stuffed at the mouth of pigs and sheep, and the words "good luck" or "double happiness" are affixed to pigs and sheep, which means good luck. Nearly a thousand pigs and sheep in the village were put together, and the scene was spectacular. There are also cultural activities such as lion dance, flag-waving gongs and drums, Chaozhou opera performance and lantern festival competition.
