Can pets be taken abroad?
Each country has different regulations regarding the entry of pets. Be sure to understand the regulations of the importing country first to avoid detours. As far as I know, the most stringent countries currently are Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, EU countries, etc. In addition to basic immunity and chip implantation, they also require rabies antibody level testing (and this test must be approved by EU countries) (laboratory to do the work and issue a report), some countries also require quarantine for a period ranging from 1 month to 6 months after entry; followed by the United States, Canada, etc., there is currently no requirement for rabies antibody level testing. Check the vaccine requirements of the country you want to visit. Each country has different requirements for animal vaccinations. Animal owners must check with their embassy or CDC for specific vaccine requirements.
Normally, the date of vaccination should be more than 1 month and less than 1 year before leaving the country. For example, China needs to prove that the vaccine was administered within one year before leaving the country. If the livestock owner is going to the United States, Animals need to be vaccinated at least one month ago but no more than 12 months ago, and the owner also needs to confirm that the animal has received the required vaccines. Your animal has been vaccinated. After you get the official vaccine "red book", the owner needs to make an appointment for the animal at an officially designated animal hospital (such as Shanghai S&P Pet Hospital) within 7 to 10 days before leaving China. Make an appointment for a physical examination. The general examination may include a urine test and a fecal examination. After that, you will be issued an "International Companion Animal Health Check Form" and other official forms from the Import and Export Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. The Import and Export Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will issue Official "Animal Health Certificate" (valid for 14 days). Currently, animals in China are not required to be microchipped, but most European countries, Japan, Taiwan, etc. have such requirements. The United States does not have this requirement either. For details, please consult the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (or relevant websites, etc.) , the inspection regulations for bringing animals into Hawaii are much stricter than those into the American continent. In other countries and regions, please consult the embassy and Ministry of Agriculture of the country you are going to regarding microchip injection regulations. Major airlines have different regulations for pet transportation. Before purchasing a ticket and confirming your itinerary, you must ensure that the flight is available for transport. Pets, and we recommend that you check your pet as baggage so that it can arrive on the same flight as you.
In addition, we recommend that you do not transfer in the middle of the flight. It is best to take a direct flight, which can save money. Your unnecessary hassle can also ease the pain of your pet's long journey. Providing your pet with favorite toys or items with a familiar smell can help soothe nervous and anxious emotions. For example, putting clothes with the owner's scent on the pet in the cage not only has a soothing effect, but also keeps warm. Since pets stay in the cage for a long time, after the pet is handed over to the airline, plus the flight time, it cannot come out until it reaches the destination. Therefore, training the pet to stay in the cage for a long time is also an important preparation before traveling. This allows the pet to adjust to the time it takes to go to the toilet.
