Longnan is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Gansu Province.

Longnan is located in the west of China, in the southeast of Gansu Province, at the junction of Qinba Mountain, Loess Plateau and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and borders Shaanxi, Nantong-Sichuan and Shaanxi-Gansu-Sichuan provinces in the east, and is known as "Qinlong Lock the Key and Bashu Throat".
