What is Hakka?

Whether one can speak Hakka or whether the Hakka bloodline is single and pure can no longer be used as the only criteria to judge whether a person is a Hakka. ? To give an example that everyone is familiar with: former Taiwan leader Lee Teng-hui, former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and Hong Kong business tycoon Li Ka-shing. Their ancestors in the Song and Yuan Dynasties were all a man named Li Huode. This Li Huode originally settled in Fenlanggangtou, Shengyunli, Shanghang County, Fujian Province. Most of his descendants live scattered in the Hakka mountainous areas in western Fujian and eastern Guangdong, and are relatively "authentic" Hakkas. ?If we use blood analysis to examine it, is it appropriate and reasonable to determine that the above three people are Hakkas? ?First of all, the first few generations of Lee Teng-hui's family moved to Taiwan Province from Yongding and settled there. After moving to Taiwan, the family has maintained the Hakka language customs. Lee's father, Li Jinlong, can speak fluent Hakka. Judging from this that Lee Teng-hui is a Hakka, it seems correct. Lee Kuan Yew's situation is roughly the same as that of Lee Teng-hui's family, and they can also be judged as Hakkas. ?But it will not work to judge that Li Ka-shing is a Hakka. Because Li Ka-shing's ancestors had already moved to Chaozhou, they spoke Chaozhou dialect, practiced Chaozhou etiquette and customs, and their family members also intermarried with local people, so they were completely Chaozhou people. ?In turn, we can find that Li Huode is a descendant of Li Gang, the famous anti-gold prime minister. Since Li Huode is a Hakka, then Li Gang should also be a Hakka? In fact, this is not the case. Li Gang is from Shaowu, and Shaowu is not a Hakka area.
