Team history of Brazil International Football Club

At the beginning of the 20th century, three young people living in Sao Paulo came to Porto Alegre and wanted to play football. But there is no local club to accept them, because they are just new immigrants, so they set up a new club. 1909 On April 4th, one Monday night, in the cellar of a house, these three young people (Enrique and Jose Popper &; AtildeO brothers and Luiz Madeira Poppe) founded Brazil International with 40 young people (twice as many as expected). Brazil international, like gremio, was founded in Porto Alegre and is also the two most famous clubs in Rio Grande do Sul.

Pilario Stadium, home of Brazil international, was completed on April 6th, 1969, and Portugal won the first game 2- 1. The supporters of the club believe that this stadium is the result of their cooperation. Originally, the stadium could accommodate 90,000 people, but it was later revised to 56,000 people according to FIFA standards.

1975, the club became the first club from Rio Grande do Sul and won the national league championship. At that time, the club beat Cruzeiro, the top team at that time, at home with 1-0. Later, Villario became the place where they won the national championship twice, beating Corinti An with 1976 2-0 and vasco da gama with 1979 2- 1 respectively, which was the only team among Brazilian international players to win the championship in an unbeaten way. They are equally successful in international competitions. 1980, they reached the final of the South American Freedom Cup, but eventually lost to the national team. In the final of Brazil Cup held at 1992, the Brazil international beat Froumy Netz at home with 1-0.

In the following ten years, the club continued to be excluded from the football world. But in 2005, they won the second place in the league, only to be defeated by Corinti Ann. However, this season, plagued by the fake wave scandal, the final round of the game was cancelled and a rematch was needed.
