Dam closure of Qincun Reservoir

After the cofferdam closure is successful, the main dam project of the reservoir can be constructed smoothly. After successful impoundment, the reservoir water will be transported to Xia Ting Reservoir in Fenghua City, a subsidiary of Ningbo, through a culvert with a total length of 28,937 meters, and then distributed to the urban area of Ningbo through tributaries.

According to Wu Junmin, deputy commander of Qincun Reservoir Construction Command, the water quality of the reservoir can reach Grade II when it takes water from the local Huangze River.

Different from Qiandao Lake Water Diversion Project, Qincun Reservoir Project has more comprehensive functions, focusing on water supply and flood control, taking into account the comprehensive utilization of irrigation and power generation.

It is reported that Qincun Reservoir in Xinchang County will complete the main dam construction in 20 16 and put into operation in 20 17. By then, people in Ningbo and Zhoushan will be able to drink high-quality water from Xinchang.

Chen Chuan, director of the Water Resources Department of Zhejiang Province, said that this is a great event in the history of water conservancy in Zhejiang Province and will play an important role in the new round of economic development of the two places.
