How long does it take to settle in Hong Kong?
Applying for a one-way permit at the place of your registered residence will take more than 4 years from the date of application for marriage. After the Ministry of Public Security issues the one-way permit, you can settle in Hong Kong. But you can rest assured that applying to immigrate to Hong Kong is based on a points system, with 0.1 points calculated for every day starting from the date of marriage. In addition, the Ministry of Public Security announced in December 2008 that the approval score for mainland residents' applications to settle in Hong Kong and Macao in 2009 dropped from 182.7 in 2007 to 146.1, which means it takes more than 4 years to qualify.
One-way permit issuance time:
0.1 points per day after marriage, as long as the points are enough. The points required in each province will be slightly different
But the score is generally around 180, so there won’t be much difference.
So no matter which province it is, it takes four and a half to five years from getting married to getting the one-way permit.
