The title of "warrior sage" was given to Guan Yu by the rulers of the Qing Dynasty. It is precisely because Guan Yu was highly respected in Qing society that a large number of Guandi temples were built by the people, and the people hoped to be blessed by worshipping Guan Yu. Businessmen, believing in the idea of righteousness, honesty and shame, also built a hall in the Chamber of Commerce to worship Guan Yu, and the pattern was exactly the same as that of Guandi Temple. Today, many shops and hotels still worship Guan Yu, which has become a unique culture in China.

Guan Yu became the barber's grandfather. The folk story is that there was a barber in the Qing Dynasty who worshipped Guan Yu very much and set up a sign in front of his shop, which said, "How many heads are there in the world? Look at the broadsword in the old lady's hand. I am quite impressed. It gradually became known, and over time, the saying that Guan Yu was a barber's grandfather slowly spread.
