Passenger is just an ordinary love story in a luxurious background.

Last weekend, I watched a previously released movie called Passengers, which is a sci-fi romance film produced by Columbia Pictures, directed by Morton Taidum and starring jennifer lawrence and Chris Pratt.

This film is about a spaceship named Avalon, carrying 5,000 passengers to the home of a new star in the space colony. During the trip, the spaceship was accidentally hit by a meteorite and broke down, which made Jim, a male passenger, wake up from the dormant cabin in advance, while others were still asleep. When the man woke up, he realized that it would take another 90 years for the spacecraft to reach its destination and could not continue to enter the dormant and frozen state, which surprised him that he might die of old age alone during the journey of this spacecraft. After some struggle, struggle and self-indulgence, Jim suddenly realized that since I couldn't reach my destination before I died of old age, I should enjoy the process, so he took the liberty to advocate awakening the heroine Aurora. The two men had a spark of love in the process of getting along, and together they found out the cause of the ship's failure and repaired it, saving the lives of everyone on board. In the end, the two died before they reached the home of the space colony nova, leaving only the green trees and flowers they planted together.

In fact, the movie is about an ordinary love story that happened in a spaceship. There is nothing wrong with the love story itself. The face value and acting skills of the male and female protagonists are online, and the drama of emotional conflict is also justified. However, the story is too weak to support a grand foundation.

Maybe our appetite has been fattened by great sci-fi films such as alien series and interstellar. When we see such a large-scale movie as Passengers with grand scenes and perfect special effects, we always hope to see more, such as the exploration and torture of the ultimate problems of human beings and life, and the significance of human beliefs in a larger time and space. And this film is covered with a beautiful and dazzling science fiction coat, telling a love story without deep excavation.

I have to say, some of them waste such good special effects and time and space background, and there is this excellent idea. So after reading it, I was a little disappointed. That disappointment is that there will be a question mark after the credits: huh? That's it? ! So Passenger is nothing more than a popcorn movie. After reading it, it's over. It won't be memorable. It's totally different from watching the stars.

But I have to say that the first 30 minutes of the film are still excellent, after all, there is an excellent concept in support. Ignoring the luxury of the spacecraft over the practical design, the director expressed the idea of "loneliness" well. Jim, who woke up unexpectedly from the hibernating cabin, was in this unpopular luxury spaceship, and he could only talk to the robot. He seems to be well taken care of and live comfortably, but there is no one else. He wants to die alone on the journey to his destination. Time and space make Jim feel that he is on an island. From being at a loss at first, enjoying resources alone, and finally trying to commit suicide, everything seems to have lost its meaning. This setting, which is more desperate than any isolation, shows how loneliness gradually erodes one's will. People still need hope to live. This is the meaning of our life and existence. It supports us to overcome laziness, get up early every day, go to work, work hard and earn money. .....

The "sci-fi element" in Passengers is more of a "display", a beautiful and dreamy cosmic environment and a luxurious spaceship full of science and technology.

In the process of watching movies, it brings a very exciting feeling to the vision, and every picture of the spaceship surprises me. The design of rooms and functions in the space capsule makes full use of space elements, which makes people feel shocked and enjoy endlessly.

Imagine: you wake up in bed every day, open your eyes and look out the window. It is a magnificent and fantastic cosmic galaxy; You can swim in the partially suspended swimming pool above the universe. You can jump into the vast universe like bungee jumping in your spacesuit and listen to the sound of the silent universe. You can chat with robots that completely listen to your instructions and instruct them to do things that you are too lazy to do; You can order your meals and drinks at will in the restaurant, chat with robots in the bar, and drink without paying ... except for people with no temperature, these things look beautiful and romantic. For a person with social disorder like me, I won't feel lonely. I can enjoy everything alone on this super-luxury spaceship with an area of over 100 square kilometers. How cool!

Having described so much about the design of spacecraft, I actually want to say that the special effects of this movie are so cool and the imagination is strong enough. Anyway, in terms of visual enjoyment, I am amazed by every function and detail of the design. But this design is limited to "showing" and only plays the role of asking questions. After weaving the background, I stayed in the "background" state without any attempt or desire to solve it. In the end, I just resorted to a disaster. The crisis of survival brought about the reconciliation of all contradictions and the inexplicable reconciliation of the protagonist's feelings. That's all, it's a bit perfunctory.

All in all, this is a popcorn movie. Just enjoy the beautiful and luxurious scenes and wonderful and romantic love stories in the movie. Based on this expectation, Skywalker is indeed a good commercial film, but it is still a long way from such a great film as Interstellar.
