The Hakkas in Taishan mainly come from Meizhou. Because the population of Heshan County was too small when it was built, the first magistrate was from Pingyuan, Meizhou, so he applied to his superiors to recruit immigrants to reclaim land and was approved. As a result, Hakkas have moved from Meizhou to reclaim Heshan. As more and more people moved here, it aroused the fear and resistance of my native people, and later it evolved into a "struggle between locals and tourists" that lasted for 12 years. After the battle, most Hakkas moved back to Meizhou, some went to Guangxi and Sichuan, and the rest were set aside from Taishan by the Qing government to set up Chixi Hall, which was ruled by Hakkas themselves.
