Reflections after reading "Mom's Bank Account"

"Mother's Bank Account" mainly tells 17 life stories of a Norwegian family who immigrated to San Francisco, United States in the early 19th century. Some of these stories make people feel warm after reading them; some of them have ups and downs in their plots and make people feel frightened after reading them.

The story that impressed me most is "Mom and the Hospital". It mainly talks about a mother's little daughter who has an earache and needs surgery in the hospital. The hospital stipulated that family members could not visit the patient in the ward within 24 hours after the operation, so the mother was very worried about her little daughter. Although the nurse emphasized that the little girl's surgery was successful, the mother was not reassured at all. So the mother thought of a way. She put on the clothes of a cleaning staff at night, pretended to be a cleaning staff and entered the ward to visit her little daughter. The mother made sure that her little daughter's operation was indeed successful, and then she went home with peace of mind.

After reading these 17 short stories, I feel that life in immigrant families is very difficult, including food and clothing. But as long as my mother is here, any difficulty can be overcome, and life becomes very warm.
