The Life Creation of Tino's Comics

Peggy Hong (author)

Zino, formerly known as Hawking Salvador Labado Tehong, 1932 was born in Mendoza, Argentina in July. His parents are Andalusians, and he is the third child of this family.

Gino has always wanted to know who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. His parents are Spanish immigrants, so he thinks that "all Spaniards are good people". But when he was four years old, he found that there were also very bad people in Spain. They killed good people in Spain, and Germans, Italians, priests and nuns were also very bad people, because they sided with the bad Spaniards ... 1939 was a terrible year, and the bad guys won. In little Gino's eyes, the British who occupied the Malvinas Islands and Gibraltar Peninsula first became good people at this moment, because they resisted the invasion of Germany, Italy and Japan for the whole world, and even the Americans became good people at this moment ... This unique love-hate character was clearly reflected in his famous cartoon character Mafalda.

Just like Philip, the cartoon character he later wrote, it was not easy when he was in elementary school. He once recalled: "... my academic performance was poor, but I got good grades at the end of the school year." I have never been the first, which makes me very upset! "

After graduating from primary school, his mother died and he entered an art school. His father died three years later. At this time, Keno, who was only 16 years old, was "tired of painting plaster statues of pots and pointed ears", so he made the most important decision in his life-to leave the Academy of Fine Arts and become a humorous painter!

In the early 1950s, he began to make various attempts. At first, he drew an advertising comic strip for a silk shop named Saidali Na. This work is not excellent. He once recalled: "... I really don't want to think of this advertising comic book again, because it will make me feel ashamed!" "

195 1 year, he came to Buenos Aires, the capital, with great enthusiasm, running between publishing houses, promoting his comic works, hoping to find a job as a cartoonist. Three weeks later, I didn't find a job, but I ran out of money. Hopes were dashed, so he had to return to Mendoza.

He was drafted into the army in 1953. This year, he felt that everything was not smooth and everything made him fidgety, but it was also in this year that his painting techniques changed a lot. The following year, he contacted many newspapers and magazines in Buenos Aires. After publishing the first page of wordless comics in This is Weekly, he went on reading and reading, such as Leopold, Ladies and Little Ladies, TV Guide, You, Phenomenon, Atlantic Island, Adam and so on. From 65438 to 0959, he began to publish his works regularly in Diverto's The Rich Man, Dr. Merengue and menstruation Vicente of Rondru, and officially entered his cartoonist career. In the second year, he established a family, and his wife Alicia Golombo is an Italian descendant with a Ph.D. in chemistry.

At the age of 30, Gino held his first personal comic exhibition in a bookstore in Buenos Aires. A year later, his first wordless comic book "Gino World" came out, and the humorous writer Miguel blasco prefaced it. On the recommendation of blasco, Gino signed a contract with an advertising company, which will promote Mansfield household appliances. According to the requirements of the advertising company, he modeled a cartoon image of a little girl after Peanut and Goldilocks, and named it Mafalda with the letter M.

In 1964, the advertising company's promotion failed, but Mafalda was lucky. After the third issue was published in Leopold magazine, it was fixed as a serial comic column on September 29th. On March 9th, 1965, Mafalda was moved to Le Monde.

Mafalda is not a naughty boy in traditional comic books. She is clear about likes and dislikes, argumentative and concerned about everything around her. Contrary to Anne, the little orphan described by American cartoonist Gray, she is a very knowledgeable little girl, naive and cunning, which attracts readers. She is interested in everything around her, and she doesn't care about anything and anyone, destroying people's little poetry.

Mafalda was a great success, which made Gino famous. People cut out Mafalda from newspapers and put it on windows, shops, windows and notebooks. Cartoon characters in Mafalda can be seen everywhere. 1966 On Christmas Day, the first batch of 5,000 Mafalda comic books published by Jorge Alvarez Press were all sold out in two days. In the following years, "Mafalda" published 12 comic books.

1967 65438+When Le Monde stopped publishing on February 22nd, Mafalda was interrupted for a time, but since June 2nd 1968, it has been serialized seven days a week.

1968, Zhi Nuo and his wife traveled to Europe, and his cartoons also went to Europe. Among them, 30 comic books were translated into Italian and included in Selected Works of Literary and Humorous Comics, a children's book for masochistic adults. 1969, Italy published the first Zeno comic book, controversial girl Mafalda. 197 1 year, "Mafalda" was translated into English, French, German, Hebrew and other languages, and appeared in publications in many countries, such as Israel, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Austria, with worldwide influence.

1972, Gino signed a contract with Danielle Marlowe to shoot a series of animated short films of Mafalda. The following year, when Argentine TV broadcast this cartoon, Mafalda and her friends formally bid farewell to "The Seven-Day Reader" and finally ended the serialization of this famous cartoon. 1974, Zhi Nuo and his wife visited the United States. At this time, the animated short film "Mafalda" has been widely broadcast in some countries such as Italy and Latin America.

1976 Zino and his wife spend most of their time in Europe. He once said with deep feelings: "The motherland is spring. Being away from the motherland has made my humorous inspiration stagnate, but my works have undoubtedly become more profound. "

1980, Zino opened a Sunday series column "Zino Humorous Painting" in the horn, which was very popular with readers.

During the period of 1984, the San Telmo Foundation held a grand Gino comic exhibition in Buenos Aires and Mendoza. In the same year, the International Comic Salon held an event in Italy to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Mafalda's birth, and also published three cartoons of Mafalda in Galicia, Spain, and Promesa Publishing House also published Gino's cartoons in Mexico. This year, he was invited to participate in the jury of the Latin American Film Festival held in Hawala, and met and formed a deep friendship with the animator Juan Padron in Cuba. The following year, Padron made an animated short film "Zhi Nuo Musical Instruments" based on Zhi Nuo cartoons.

1986, the comic book Gino World was first published in the United States, and famous American cartoonists Schultz, Larsson and Trudeau also wrote praises for this comic book.

1992 In order to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America, the National Association held a large-scale exhibition "The World of Mafalda" in Madrid, in which the short Gino animation produced by Padron was shown, including the plots of Mafalda and Columbus. In the same year, Monroe Publishing House published the complete works of Mafalda in Barcelona.

1In April, 994, Keno was invited to attend the Polonia Children's Book Fair and had an unforgettable meeting with publishers, educators, writers and illustrators. This year, activities to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mafalda's birth set off an upsurge. In Milan, Dino had extensive discussions with Weng Bertau Eco, Marcel Luo bernal Di, editor-in-chief of Linus Monthly, Vivia Serra, Roman Gubourne, a Spanish Jewish scientist, and Dean of Cervantes College in Rome, and everyone unanimously proposed to hold a large-scale Mafalda exhibition in Italian cities in the coming year. The following year, the Argentine Promotion Center in Milan held the Gino Comic Exhibition.

Jinuo cartoons have distinctive features, and the material seems ordinary, but the meaning is far-reaching. He is good at magnifying the subtleties of human nature with humorous techniques, which makes people laugh and have endless aftertaste. It is better to laugh at yourself than to laugh at yourself. He criticized life with incisive techniques, analyzed the lives of all beings, and pointed at people's hearts with sharp sarcasm and spicy satire, which was unforgettable.

Vivid image narration is another feature of Keno comics. In his wordless comic books, a series of images and actions vividly express the rich connotations that countless languages can't express, crossing the language barrier, crossing the national border and winning a vast world.

Superb painting skills are an important factor that makes Zhi Nuo's cartoons stand out. The characters in Jinuo cartoons are rigorous and solid, meticulous, and exaggerated, which vividly show various forms of the world.
