List of New Requirements and Regulations for Studying in Korea in 2022

South Korea's young study abroad has attracted more and more attention and is recognized by international students. Do you know any relevant policies for studying abroad at a young age? Let's take a look at the list of new requirements and regulations for studying in Korea in 2022.

Study abroad policy

First of all, we need to know about Singapore's study abroad policy. In fact, Singapore is one of the few countries in the world that can accept studying abroad at a young age. You can apply from kindergarten to doctoral students, but the difficulty is gradually increasing.

Children under the age of 6 can apply directly to kindergartens or first grade primary schools in Singapore without any examination. Children aged 7- 16 who want to study in Singapore need to pass the primary and secondary school entrance examination (AEIS) of the Singapore government. /kloc-children over the age of 0/6 can only enter Singapore's colleges and universities if they pass the O-level exam or the A-level exam.

On the one hand, the difficulty of these two exams is different. AEIS is a unified entrance examination for foreign students in primary and secondary schools launched by the Singapore government. Students can take the exam twice a year and only take two subjects: math and English.

Level 0 exam is a high school graduation exam jointly organized by Cambridge University Local Examinations Committee and Singapore Ministry of Education. There are Chinese, English, mathematics, physics, chemistry, accounting, history and other subjects to choose from. Students need to take at least five or six exams, with a time span of half a year.

On the other hand, the treatment after passing the exam is different. After passing the AEIS exam, students will enter government primary and secondary schools. After graduating from high school, they will take the Level 0 exam as graduates of Singapore government secondary schools. But if China students go directly to Singapore to take the O-level exam, they are international students.

This leads to a problem. At present, Singapore's junior colleges (pre-university) and polytechnics give priority to recruiting graduates from government secondary schools before recruiting international students. The score requirements will vary greatly. Therefore, if China students can enter public secondary schools in Singapore, their future development prospects will be very good.

For young students (/kloc-under 0/6 years old), the Singapore government allows mothers and children to accompany them. When students are admitted to government primary and secondary schools, their mothers can get a certificate to accompany them to live in Singapore for a long time. In the second year after students are admitted to government primary and secondary schools, their mothers can legally work in Singapore, and even get a work permit if their academic qualifications permit. This will not only reassure parents, but also reduce the family's economic pressure.

Advantages of studying abroad

In fact, children studying abroad in junior high school can adapt to the new living environment earlier. Studying abroad means establishing a new home in a new and unfamiliar environment, which requires him to improve his language ability, independence and adaptability.

Students who study abroad earlier can complete this transition period ahead of time, without taking up the time for undergraduate or graduate students to study deeper than the course and need to consult a lot of materials to write papers.

Secondly, it is helpful for further studies and the choice of new schools in the future, because when studying primary courses, you can visit various schools during the holidays, and you can have the most direct feeling about the geographical location and school environment, so that you will not blindly follow the choice of future schools and courses.

Thirdly, if you go abroad early, such as going to primary school or junior high school, the environment will be much simpler and you can make more local new friends. And when I was an undergraduate in the future, my work record was good. After graduating from school, it is also convenient to find a place where I have worked before to open a letter of recommendation.

In addition, studying abroad at a young age can cultivate children's practical ability, live independently, accept new cultures and new things, and be more creative. However, before studying abroad, junior and senior high school students must be clear about why they want to study abroad, or judge whether they can really cope with life and study abroad, and at the same time assess whether their language ability can quickly adapt to study and life in a foreign language environment.

If students can meet the above conditions, then parents don't have to worry about studying in Korea. There are advantages in studying abroad at a young age.

Secondary school application

First of all, the general application conditions for studying in Korea are: 18 years old or above, and high school or high school equivalent. In other words, most students studying in Korea have to graduate from high school. Therefore, the main enrollment schools in Korea are mainly four-year undergraduate or three-year junior college.

In fact, South Korea, like some other countries, has international high schools for junior high school graduates.

However, because of South Korea's strict immigration policy, very few China students have chosen to study in South Korea since high school. At present, foreign students studying in Korean international high schools are mainly students from Taiwan Province Province, China, and there are also many ordinary high schools. Most of them immigrated with their parents or moved to Korea, so they studied here since childhood and their Korean level is also very good.
