Where is the Shen Shi family?

As the saying goes, Shen Shi leaves Xing Wu. (Xing Wu: Xing Wu County, roughly in today's Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Shen family, Ru family, Gu Huiji family, Longxi Li family, Donghai Chen family and clan are called the six major families in China.

During the pre-Qin period, Shen mainly lived in Henan and Hubei, and also had Shen Shi's footprints in Shanxi, Anhui, Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan. The Eastern Han Dynasty sank into Zhejiang, and its descendants flourished. Until the Sui Dynasty, Shen developed into a noble family in Wu Kang, Zhejiang. In the Tang Dynasty, Shen Shi entered Fujian as one of the surnames, then immigrated to Guangdong, and Shen Shi entered Taiwan Province Province in the late Ming Dynasty. The major province of Shenyang in Song Dynasty was Zhejiang, mainly distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and Henan, followed by Hunan, Anhui and Hebei. The whole country has formed two gathering places of Shen surname: Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Henan.

The family population of contemporary Shen Shi has reached more than 4.7 million, ranking 49th in China, accounting for about 0.38% of the national population. At present, the distribution in China is mainly concentrated in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, accounting for about 36% of the total population, followed by Shanghai, Anhui, Henan, Guangdong, Hubei, Guizhou and Shandong, which account for 37%. Jiangsu is the largest province of contemporary Shen, accounting for 20% of the total population of Shen. The whole country has formed a distribution centered on Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

Shen Shi is a typical southern surname. Ye and You are both branches of Shen Shi, and Shen, Ye and You are descendants of Ji Zi. It can be said that these three surnames are actually a family.
