How to apply for a visa when you are newly married and want to travel to the United States? how much is it? How long can it be done? How many days can I stay in America?

1. Application for American tourist business visas (B-1, B-2)

B-1/B-2 visas are also the most non-immigrant visas issued in the United States every year. The reasons for applying for a B-2 visa are quite extensive, and there are no clear restrictions on American embassies and consulates living abroad. Generally speaking, you can apply for a B-1/B-2 visa for sightseeing, business, entertainment, visiting relatives and friends, seeking medical treatment, attending meetings, going to exhibitions, and handling personal affairs in the United States. B-1/B-2 visas can be divided into three months, one year, three years, five years, ten years and permanently. The number of entry is also divided into one entry and multiple entry. American embassies and consulates in different countries and regions, or different consuls in the same embassy and consulate, have great discretion over the validity period or the number of entry visas. At present, it is easier for Hong Kong residents to apply for B-1/B-2 visas with multiple entry for one to five years, while it is easier for Chinese mainland residents to apply for B-1/B-2 visas with multiple entry for three months to one year. The difficulty of applying for a B-1/B-2 visa depends on different countries and situations. The United States has granted visa-free access to some countries, such as Taiwan Province, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden and Britain. But at present, citizens of Chinese mainland, Hongkong, Singapore and other countries and regions do not have visa-free treatment for B-1/B-2.

2. The information that the B2 visa applicant should prepare before the face-to-face interview:

Valid passport: The passport of the B1/B2 visa applicant must be valid for at least six months longer than the expected time for the applicant to leave the United States. If your passport will be valid for less than six months when you expect to leave the United States, or your passport is damaged, or there is no blank visa issuance page on your passport, please apply for a new passport before coming for an interview.

3. visa interview day

on the visa interview day, you need to bring all the supporting materials you have prepared in addition to the necessary application materials for a visa. Please check the specific categories of non-immigrant visas if you want to know what necessary materials are needed for a visa and what supporting materials are recommended. Non-applicants cannot accompany applicants into the visa application hall. During the visa interview, each applicant must prove his situation to the visa officer separately. Applicants need to be prepared in advance, so that they can explain their binding force in China and the purpose of this trip to the United States to the visa officer alone without relatives or legal representatives. The only exception is that children under the age of 13 can be accompanied by adult relatives for interviews. Under some special circumstances, the disabled can also be accompanied by someone. Please fax the reasons why the applicant needs to be accompanied to (86-1) 8531-3333 a few days before the interview.
