Korea was Korea in ancient times?
Korea can be divided into two situations:
First, Koguryo, which existed in China from the Han Dynasty to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, was often abbreviated as Korea in the history books of later generations, and appeared in some history books of ancient Korea, China, Song and Yuan Dynasties, modern Korea, North Korea and Japan. So it's also called former Koryo. At that time, it was the era of the former Three Kingdoms. The main countries were Koguryo (Koguryo), Baekje and Silla. At the same time, there were also countries such as the Bohai Sea, which existed between the Korean Peninsula and the Liaodong area of China. Later, Bohai Sea, Baekje and Koguryo (Koryo) were destroyed by the Tang Dynasty, or by the joint forces of Tang Dynasty and Silla. The southern part of the Korean peninsula was unified by Silla, and parts of the northern part were occupied by Tang Dynasty. After the decline of Tang Dynasty, it was recovered by Silla.
Second, there were countries in China between the Five Dynasties, the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. Silla was re-divided into the last three countries shortly after reunification, including Silla, Baekje and Korea (Wang). Silla, the founder of Wang Korea, will establish its own country in the turmoil, with the title of Korea. Finally, Korea unified the Korean peninsula, and had contacts with Song and Liao, and then became a vassal country of Yuan Dynasty.
After the Ming Dynasty destroyed Yuan Dynasty, internal unrest also occurred in Korea. Li Chenggui replaced Korea as the founding country, and Ming Taizu gave it the title of "Korea". It lasted until the end of the Qing Dynasty, regained its independence under the coercion of Japan, and then abolished the country name.
Therefore, Korea is a symbol of the country's history and geography, not a nation, just as we say that we are from China, but we may be Han, Manchu, Mongolian, Hui and Zhuang. Now both Korea and North Korea are willing to call themselves Koryo and Koryo, which is the symbol of a unified nation-state, not to say that they are Koryo.
Let's talk about ethnic groups:
In fact, the ethnic origin of Koguryo ethnic group is Fu Yu after the Dirty People moved eastward, while Baekje mainly originated from Koreans in the south of the Korean Peninsula, while Silla has Dirty People, Koreans and Qin people who immigrated from China, forming a multi-ethnic country. According to China's historical point of view, the Qin people who were filthy, Koreans and local immigrants from China became the main ethnic group on the Korean Peninsula, and Goguryeon was a minority in Liaodong, China, which had been integrated into other ethnic groups after the national extinction and had nothing to do with Korea. According to the historical view of North Korea and South Korea, Koreans inherited all the above nationalities and countries, just as China now inherited Xia, Shang, Zhou, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Although it has been ruled by many dynasties and nationalities, the main body of the nationalities has not changed. Their historical geography includes ancient Korea, so it also includes China Liaodong occupied by Gao Gouli, parts of Hebei, and the perished Bohai Kingdom. From the perspective of historical geography, it is not a mistake.
