Fan County is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, in the northeast of Henan Province, at the junction of Henan and Shandong provinces. It borders Taiqian County in the east, Puyang County in the west, Juancheng County and Yuncheng County in Shandong Province across the Yellow River in the south, and Shenxian County in Shandong Province in the north with Jindi. The geographical coordinates are115 30 ′ east longitude and 35 50 ′ north latitude. The county is about 20 kilometers long from north to south and 42 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 6 17 square kilometers.

Historical evolution:

1in August, 949, the administrative office of Hebei, Shandong and Henan was abolished and Pingyuan Province was established. Fan county belongs to Puyang area of plain province.

1952 Plain Province was abolished, and Fan County was subordinate to Liaocheng area of Shandong Province.

1in April, 964, in order to solve the water dispute between Henan and Shandong provinces, the State Council classified Fan County and the area south of Jindi under its jurisdiction as Henan, and the county seat of Fan County was still in cherry orchard Township, Shenxian County, 5 kilometers away from the county boundary, becoming an "island" outside the provincial boundaries.

1994, with the approval of the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, Fanxian New Town was built on the basis of Jindi Shizipo Economic Development Zone in Henan Province.

1 July, 9971day, the county party committee, county people's congress, county government and county CPPCC moved to the new town for office.
