Sino-Canadian cooperation project in civil engineering of Fuzhou University

The Sino-Canadian cooperative education project of civil engineering major in Fuzhou University is jointly organized by Fuzhou University and Manitoba University in Canada. With the permission of the Ministry of Education of China and Canada, Fuzhou University began enrolling students on 20 15. Fuzhou University, founded in 1958, is a work-oriented university with coordinated development of science, engineering and multi-disciplines.

"2 1 1 Project" is a key construction university jointly established by Fujian Provincial People's Government and Ministry of Education. The teaching and research strength of civil engineering discipline is strong, with the right to award master's and doctoral degrees and a postdoctoral research mobile station. It has national and provincial scientific research and teaching platforms, such as "National and Local Engineering Research Center for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Informatization in Civil Engineering" and "National Demonstration Center for Civil Engineering Experimental Teaching". Civil engineering is a characteristic key discipline and a first-class key discipline in Fujian Province, among which structural engineering is a national key discipline. Civil engineering major is a national specialty, and the first batch of outstanding engineers training pilot majors of the Ministry of Education.

Manitoba University, founded in 1877, is a public university. It has been rated as the top 300 universities in the world by IMES World University in the UK and academic ranking of world universities of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and it is the western Canadian university with the most Rhodes scholarships in the world. Its engineering school is one of the best engineering schools in Canada, and its engineering R&D center is the headquarters of Canada's national R&D innovative structure intelligent sensing center.

Fuzhou University and Manitoba University in Canada jointly set up the major of civil engineering, aiming at bringing together high-quality teachers from the two universities, integrating rich teaching experience, making special teaching plans, starting classes independently, and cultivating senior civil engineering talents with international vision and international communication skills.

The project implements the training mode of "3+ 1". Students will study in Fuzhou University for three years, and will be taught by Manitoba University and Fuzhou University teachers. After completing the three-year study task, students can apply for further study at Manitoba University in Canada. Fuzhou University and Manitoba University recognize each other's school credits. Students who are admitted to the school and have completed the required credits can get double degrees, namely, the undergraduate diploma of Fuzhou University, the bachelor's degree certificate and the bachelor's degree certificate of civil engineering of Manitoba University. If you can't go to Manitoba University in Canada after three years, you can continue to complete all the course credits of this project in Fuzhou University and obtain the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree certificate of Fuzhou University.

Immigration is encouraged in the province of Manitoba, and the diploma of civil engineering from the University of Manitoba is certified by the Canadian Engineering Certification Board. According to Manitoba's latest immigration policy, all students who have studied and graduated in Manitoba can apply for a three-year work visa and a green card since 20 1 1. In 2007, students who stay in Manitoba after graduation can apply for a refund of up to 60% of their tuition fees.
