A house designed for Martian immigrants

With the increasing population of the earth, alien immigrants began to be put on the agenda. The near-earth planet Mars has become the first choice for our immigrants, and astronauts from all over the world can be described as "visiting" Mars in an endless stream. In order to make the pioneers of Mars live and work better on the red planet, it is necessary to create a comfortable environment. Nasa's "3D printing habitat challenge" was launched for this purpose and lasted for nearly four years. Recently, NASA announced the competition results and design scheme.

The first design shows a spider-like lander. After landing on Mars, many robots will collect materials such as ice, calcium oxide and Martian polymer in the surrounding environment, and 3D print out many houses with hexagonal structures, which are close to each other to form a community.

The vertical egg-shaped structure "Martha" habitat ranks second. It is made of basalt from Mars and plastic polylactic acid extracted from plants. It adopts double-layer shell design, which can resist the low pressure and high radiation environment of Mars.

The third team designed a hat-shaped habitat, whose shape aims to minimize the impact of sandstorms. The house is decorated with windows, which allow sunlight to come in and astronauts to grow crops.

The design of the fourth place also considered sunshine. This is a habitat with a subduction line and a double shell, which can let in natural light and protect astronauts from radiation.

Unique spherical and habitat houses with two entrances ranked fifth. It is built on an inclined site, and this structure can better adapt to the uneven terrain of Mars.
