The origin of Macheng village name

Macheng Village: According to the county annals: Macheng, the name of the old county, is also the name of the ancient village. In the 28th year of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty (AD 740), Macheng County once set up water transportation. The Dictionary of Ancient Place Names in China contains: Macheng County is 20km south of Luanxian County in Zhili. Macheng county used to have a city wall with a perimeter of 1444 steps and a height of 10 feet and 5 feet. It is one of the ancient market towns, with "two" and "seven" as a set.

Dawangzhuang Village: It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, Lu Zhou, who lived behind the mountain in Shanxi, immigrated to this village. Because of Wang Xing's large number of families, it was named Dawangjiazhuang and later called Dawangzhuang.

Grand lizhuang village: According to legend, in the early Ming Dynasty, there lived a family named Zhao Zhuangzi. In the second year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1404), Lu Zhou immigrants from Houshan, Shanxi Province came here. Due to the large number of Li family, it was renamed as Da Lizhuang.

Hezhuang Village: It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, He Changgong, the ancestor of He surname, moved here from Bajia Sophora japonica in Yining Village, Hongtong County, Luzhou. The original Zhao and Li families lived, and Ho moved to later generations, so it was called he jia zhuang, or He Zhuang for short.

Xingwangzhuang Village: According to legend, in the past, there was a village along the Luanhe River east of Dawangzhuang, called Ghost Wangzhuang, also called Riverside Village. Later, because the Luanhe River flooded, residents came here to build villages, and later immigrants moved in, leaving both people and money empty, hence the name Xingwangzhuang.

Nanwangzhuang Village: According to legend, the village was once called Zhaizhuang. In the early Ming Dynasty, the ancestor Harper moved here from Houshan Luzhou, Shanxi. Because there are many families in Wang Xing, it is called Xiaowangjiazhuang. Because it is located in the southeast of Macheng, it is also called Nanxiaowangjiazhuang, or Nanxiaowangzhuang for short.

Haozhuang Village (including two natural villages, Haozhuang and Xiaohaozhuang): According to legend, in the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (AD 1368), a family named Hao lived here and was named Hao Zhuang. In the early years of Yongle, Zhao, Wang, Zhang and Liu immigrated here from Luzhou, Houshan, Shanxi, and still used the original village name. Xiaohaozhuang: It is said that during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, a man named Li Mingbo lived here, and later moved from Haozhuang to Di, Wang, Liu and other households. After the village was built, it was named Xiaohaozhuang.

Redundant village: According to legend, during the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, when immigrants from other provinces came to settle here, most of them were allocated houses. Eight surnames, including Chen, Yang and Liu, immigrated to this place late from under the pagoda tree in Luzhou, Shanxi, and did not give a house. After the establishment of the village, it was called Duoyu Village, which is still in use today.

Dongtuozi Village: It is said that during the Shunzhi period of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1644- 16 1), Chen and Shi moved from Rongcun to Dongshatuozi, and then the number of households gradually increased. After the village was built, it was named Dongtuozi.

Nantuozi Village (including two natural villages, Nantuozi and Nanxingzi): It is said that in the second year of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 19 10), two families, Chen and Gu, moved from Rongcun to Nansha Tuo Highland in the east of the village. Later, due to the increase of population, a village was formed, which was named Nantuozi because it was located in the south of the redundant village. Nanxingzi Village: According to legend, in the early years of the Republic of China, this place was lined with Woods and was managed by Zhou. Because it is located in the south of the redundant village, it is called Nanxingzi.

Mizhuang Village: It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, Gao, Liang and Mi moved here from Houshan Luzhou, Shanxi Province. Because rice is a royal relative, it is called Mijiazhuang, later called Mizhuang.

White village: It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, a family named Baijiazhuang lived here. Shanxi Shanlu Zhou immigrants settled here, first using the name of Baijiazhuang village, and then writing it as Baizhuang.

Zhandianzi Village: According to legend, in the early years of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, there lived a family named Zhan, known as Zhanjiadian, commonly known as Zhandianzi. After the Lv Zhou immigrants from Shanxi Mountain settled here, they still used the original village name.

Zhaizhuang Village: According to legend, Luzhou immigrants from Houshan, Shanxi Province moved here and settled here. Due to the large number of households, it was named Zhaizhuang, or Zhaizhuang for short.

Laoliuzhuang Village: It is said that there used to be immigrants from Luzhou, the back mountain of Shanxi, who came here to build a village. Because of the huge Liu family, it was named Liujiazhuang, also known as North Liu Zhuang. 1982 It was renamed as Laoliuzhuang when the place name was standardized.

Zhaizhuang Village: According to legend, Zhaizhuang's ancestors moved here from Luzhou, a mountain behind Shanxi, so it was named Zhaizhuang, later referred to as Zhaizhuang.

Li Yuanying Village: It is said that there was once a family named Gao who ran a chestnut garden. Lv Zhou immigrated to this village after Shanxi Mountain, so it was named Li Yuanying.

Gangzi Village: According to legend, in the early years of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, Xu, Li and other surnames moved here from Luzhou, Houshan, Shanxi Province. The village was built on Gaogang, so it was named Gangzi Village.

Qiaotouying Village: According to legend, the Lu Zhou immigrants from Qiaotou Village in Qinghe in the past came here. So there used to be a barracks in this land, so it was called Qiaotou Camp.

Tiantaizhai: It is said that Tian moved from Houshan Luzhou, Shanxi Province to Dilizhai. Because it is located on a very high platform, it was named Tianjiatai, and later it was called Tiantai for short.

Zhangtai Village: According to legend, in the past, a man surnamed Zhang immigrated here from Luzhou, Houshan, Shanxi Province, and built a village on a high platform, hence the name Zhangjiatai, later referred to as Zhangtai.

Matai Village: According to legend, Wang, Liang, Zou and Ma moved here from Houshan, Shanxi, and built a village in Shangjian. There are many families named Ma, so it is called Majiatai, later referred to as Matai.

Dongying Village: It is said that Wang Xing moved from Qiaotouying Village in this county to build a village in the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 19 1), so it was named Dongying because it was east of Le Ying.
