(7) When applying for an ordinary passport, an active serviceman shall, in addition to the application materials mentioned in Items (1) and (2), submit his/her identity certificate (such as ID card and military officer's card) and its photocopy, as well as the opinions issued by the competent department of the military system with the power of examination and approval.

(8) In addition to the application materials in Items (1), (2), (3) and (4), the original and photocopy of the ordinary passport shall be submitted at the time of renewal. If China citizens who have settled abroad apply for renewal of ordinary passports in a short period of time, they must also submit a valid overseas settlement certificate and a temporary residence permit issued by the public security organ of their temporary residence.

(9) In addition to the application materials in Items (1), (2), (3) and (4), a replacement ordinary passport shall be accompanied by a description of the damage, loss or theft of the original ordinary passport, and a replacement ordinary passport due to damage shall also be accompanied by a damaged ordinary passport. If China citizens who have settled abroad apply for a replacement ordinary passport for a short period of time, they must also submit a valid overseas settlement certificate and a temporary residence permit issued by the public security organ in their temporary residence.
